New from Pew!

Guess what everybody?!! Pew has a new poll which contradicts (countermands?) its last one! (tho I guess they didn't change the wording) Wow a swing of 5% pts, new differential from +6 guns, to -3 gun control, swing of 9 to our side!

Pew. July 14-20, 2015. N=2,002 adults nationwide.
"What do you think is more important -- to protect the right of Americans to own guns, or to control gun ownership?"
Protect right to own guns .... Control ownership ... Unsure/ Refused
7/14-20/15 ..... 47 .........................50 .............................3
12/3-7/14 ....... 52 .........................46 .............................3

Ellison: This poll question is poorly worded. >>> I don't oppose the right to own guns. I oppose a free for all weapons bazaar

Haha, I know what you facetiously mean, & I agree. The pendulum swung back our way, uplifting, and seems to me is plateauing out at near parity, between pro gun & gun control.
I checked at pew research (which I shoulda done in the OP, mea culpa), and the poll is kosher:

aug 2015: Since December 2014, when support for gun rights reached a two-decade high, the share prioritizing gun rights has fallen five percentage points, while the percentage saying it is more important to control gun ownership has increased four points.
The balance of opinion on whether it is more important to control gun ownership or protect gun rights has been more closely divided in recent years than it was in the early 2000s or 1990s. From 1993-2008, majorities said it was more important to control gun ownership than to protect gun rights.
