What is with all these exorcism gone bad posts?

Is it me or are they posting this to make religion look bad? And when you ask for a proposal you get no answer.

Yeah bad things happen but most believers don't do this stuff that gets published in there.

1. The point is that a few participants in Religion want to create an atmosphere that is toxic

to believers. They aren't interested in discussion or debate, but simply want to beat up believers. Given the challenges that American Atheists face, I can understand where they are coming from but I can't necessarily condone their behavior.

In broad categories you have believers, atheists and anti-theists (I feel safe using this term as several of them have declared themselves as such). We agree mostly on the political issues (with some exceptions). Believers and Atheists can have interesting and well informed discussions; Anti-Theists on the other hand there's little point to engaging with unless you just want to fight. How can you have a discussion with someone who believes all believers to be deceptive or ignorant?

I can't put them on ignore because I am a host of the room but I have already stopped responding to one who made clear his dislike of me.

I think some of them just want to use the forum just to insult us.

regardless of the topic. And I think there is a lot of frustration at work -- I'm not quite sure why. I think frustration is what drives the personal insults.

If an issue arises regarding an individual member, it will go to the hosts forum, where the ignore feature doesn't work.

drive believers out and that a clique of half a dozen or so can no longer dominate the group. This seems to frustrate the members of said clique no end.

They don't seem to like atheists and agnostics interested in real conversation much, either. Tant piss, as one of my French professors used to say. (Not a typo.)

in Googleology to my list of people not worth responding to.

There's also a "small pond/big fish" dynamic going on here, I think. That usually comes from perceiving oneself as a very small fish in a much larger pond elsewhere.
