Sen. Elizabeth Warren 'tickled' by Grammy nod

Sen. Elizabeth Warren 'tickled' by Grammy nod
12/5/2014

The Massachusetts Democrat, who has been encouraged to run for president, is among the nominees for best spoken word album at the 57th Grammy Awards for her memoir, A Fighting Chance.

Grammy nominations were announced Friday and Carter, who won a Grammy in 2007, is up in the same category for A Call to Action, the former president’s take on discrimination and abuse of women and girls.

Warren, a favorite Democratic surrogate on the campaign trail this year, has said she’s not running for president.

Obama (twice), Bill Clinton and Hillary Rodham Clinton also have won the golden gramophone trophy. But Warren and Carter have some tough competition this year. Joan Rivers, actor James Franco and ’70s disco queen Gloria Gaynor are all in the same category.

Warren tweeted that she’s “tickled” by the Grammy nomination and gratified the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences haven’t heard her try to carry a tune.

I'm guessing it'll go to Joan Rivers, but it's still cool.
