Republicans take infighting for granted. The GOP establishment and Tea Party insurgents have been waging a bloody battle for the heart and soul of the party for years now.
Democrats aren't used to this kind of rancor particularly between party all stars. So when President Barack Obama slammed Elizabeth Warren over the weekend as "a politician like everybody else" whose "arguments don't stand the test of fact and scrutiny"?
For the party faithful, it was a little like if mom and dad had started shouting at each other in the living room.
What's the beef about?
In a word, trade.

Those of us who've been aware of TPP for years don't seem to be able to do a good job of explaining why its opposed. N
No matter how many times many of us have posted "Public Citizen's" updates on TPP with videos of Lori Wallach and other articles explaining opposition from Enviro Groups & Labor many still just don't what could be wrong with it. The fact that they don't get it shows how complicated it is that it just goes over everyone's head. And, that alone should cause it's failure. We won't know what's in it until FTA is passed and even then we will need Lawyers to explain the language. Anything that complicated, having to be done in secret and now pushed through with a President having "Fast Track Authority" just doesn't pass the smell test.

At least, that is my feeling based on the level of discourse on DU.

If I actually thought Dale Carnegie knew how to deal with the Reality-challenged, I'd read his book.

(84,711 posts)back in the day. I don't hear it talked about, anymore. But, then, maybe that strategy died when America started to go into decline as the Wall Street Crooks took over. They can just influence each other who have the same intent.
