I couldn't work on the gardens yesterday or today!!! why is this good news, you ask?

Because it is RAINING!!!!!!!!!!! we are in serious drought here (so serious that the idiots at utilities FINALLY got around to watering restrictions this year), so, believe me, every single drop of rain helps. The waldo canyon burn scar is under flood warning, but, so far, things are calm. AND, it is RAINING--a nice, gentle, rain that the trees, and plants, and grasses, are happily drinking in.

2. I got to work on the gardens yesterday and today because it is sunny! Too many years of wet weather

and finally it is sunny here.

3. Same here in the mountains. An inch of snow today, May 9th

added to a couple of feet since the first of May. Plus, it's been raining here too, better than snow. I'm whining, but moisture in Colorado is always GOOD NEWS! Our poor, low resevoir should almost fill up by July. Keep it coming!

6. Grand Lake, west side of Rocky Mountain Nat'l Park.

You know, our National Parks, where Rmoney said we could drill baby drill and our local right wingers voted for him in droves.

7. it is beautiful there. drill, baby, drill, indeed--which is why we are fighting fracking in one of

our residential areas. (and the companies are fighting even such minor restrictions as being forced to locate their wells 1,000 feet from schools or homes.)

8. Considering our abundance of sunshine and wind, it's criminal to use

our precious water to bring polluting fossil fuels out of the ground. Natural gas burns clean, but the cost to the environment to extract it is too high. Would like to see Hickenlooper replaced by a gov who cares. Problem is, our other choices were completely unacceptable. He said fracking water was good enough to drink.. take a big gulp, gov!

9. we have 300 days of sunshine a year here--and more than enough wind. gov frackenlooper

has turned into such a disappointment, but, you are correct, the other "choices" were completely unacceptable.

where is the water? this is an alpine desert, we have to get water from elsewhere as it is, yet council won't address this tiny little issue.

10. Funny how the Republicans in my neck of the woods will yell and scream

about preserving water in the high country to "save our rivers," but when I bring up the use of water for fracking, they clam up. Frack away, but to hell with farmers or anyone who might have a back yard garden.
