(89 posts)I've seen the Civil War, the American Buffalo, and Benjamin Franklin. There are several others I want to see but my local library does not have them and I'm too cheap/poor to pay for the streaming service.

(4,609 posts)The Story of Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Susan B Anthony ~ Not for Ourselves Alone.
Part I & Part II is a total of 4 hours,,,, it is a wonderful story.
I've watched many of his documentaries ~ these days one must pay to see them,,,, remember when PBS was free? of course, I'm talking about 'on demand'.
He really steers toward the middle to do the stories,,,, I noticed it particularly watching one about LBJ and
the Gulf of Tonkin incident.

(42,822 posts)of meeting him once briefly at work at a lecture he gave on the Civil War, what a terrific series. He did take some guff over the lengthy Vietnam War (?) series that some still gripe about but I never wavered.

(4,937 posts)Even when the subject matter is going to be rough. I knew going in that The American Buffalo would be a tough watch, but I watched it and came away knowing so much more than I did before.
