It's great! Maybe his best.
I really had no idea what it was going to be about - invading North Korea or Iran, perhaps? But it's not like that at all. I don't want to spoil it, but if you like his movies, you will love this one!
To my Colorado friends - I saw it at the Mayan Theater. I'd never been there before. It's fab! My friend & I both want to see it again & we're definitely going back to the Mayan.

(531 posts)... here in Colorado Springs, at Kimballs downtown independent cinema. It was a great night out, and a packed auditorium, too.
I honestly thought the movie was going to be about the endless spiralling runaway militarism that's sucking the life out of America... but I really enjoyed it all the same. Hoping Michael Moore will make that movie one day.
Where is The Mayan Theater? Sounds like a place I should go sometime!

(38,305 posts)Glad it wasn't. This was so much better. I love how he ended it by reminding how many of the ideas were American ideas that we've lost sight of. I'm going to see it again in a few weeks.
They Mayan theater is on Broadway, near downtown. Definitely a treat! Regular concession stand on the first floor & a full bar on the 2nd.

(417 posts)This film goes so deeply into the ridiculous mindset of this country it cannot be explained in simple terms. Every uncomfortable question you've ever had about the devolution of the U.S.Of A. is explored in excrutiating detail. Is our country salavagable? Moore ends up optimistic, but he did finish his film before the current political race for POTUS.
You will laugh. And then you will cry. I had never felt more like a stranger in a strange land when I walked back out into the Santa Cruz sunshine.
Thanks Michael for your bravery.

(53,235 posts)It's given me hope for the human race. Not for the U.S. in my lifetime, but for the human race, as he shows us some cultures actually value human dignity. The U.S. does not. CLEARLY, it does not. Maybe someday it will.
The U.S. clips are hard to watch but it's overall an uplifting, hopeful film. I loved the Wizard of Oz ending. It brought a big smile to my face.
See the film!!! Feel the dig!!!
