I like your thread, and it will keep me thinking.
I prefer your #2. Though the character is poor, he shares much of the same personality as Trump.
One difference, is Trump has done everything publicly to ruin himself. In the 1957 movie, Lonesome Rhodes had a one time open mic to ruin him. We are in different times.

(79 posts)12. Bob Roberts. Tim Robbins' characterization of folksy yet edgy corruption and wink winking at fascism just oozes Trump. Even of Duh Donald doesn't play sing and play a guitar.

Now that Trump is in the White House look for WWE Linda McMahon to have some sort of seat at Trump's table.
She's #45's small business czar.
