So I finally watched Gone Girl - SPOILERS

On IMDB it's rated 8.1, which is really high, but there were a lot of 1s in the user reviews so I thought "What gives?"

So now that I've watched the DVD, I can see how it had a considerable wow factor in the theaters. It's quite the pot boiler. BUT:

Crime victims are not sent home covered in blood. Since she killed her "rapist", they would have collected physical evidence including washing away the blood and photographing bruises and ligature marks. Since she said he had clubbed her over the head to abduct her, and that was the source of the blood on the kitchen floor, they would have inspected her scalp for a deep laceration and found none. With the blood washed away they also would have noticed a needle mark in her arm from where she drew blood. Since she didn't have medical training and wasn't a junkie, I don't know how she would have managed to draw blood anyway.

And that's just a start.

Solid acting from everyone though.

What I remember is she was a genius so she would have read exactly what needed to be done like with drawing her own blood.

I was a medic in the military and when bored I would take my own blood pressure. It was difficult at first, but got good at it. I’m sure if I had had the inclination to do so, I could have easily drawn my own blood. And it would have left hardly any mark.

The needle marks could be from donating blood or perhaps not noticeable like on a drug dealer, where the injections would damage the blood vessels.

As for the head laceration, wasn't she hit over the head by the thieves? That would leave the right mark.

Good thread though.
