Love Simon! I am in love with this movie!

saw it last night, loved EVERY moment. Can’t remember last time I liked a movie so much, let alone a romcom. Phenomenal acting, many true to life moments. 100% genuine, I can attest as a gay person. Honestly, it is easily the best, most representative lgbt themed movie I have ever seen and it is meant for everyone, especially children/teens and their parents.

You really have to be a cold-hearted bastard not to have your emotions tugged while watching it, especially during the scenes with Simon's parents late in the film.

The Whitney Houston scene as well as any scene with the drama teacher were also highlights but the entire film was terrific.

It's sitting at 91% on Rotten Tomatoes and audiences gave it a rare A+ Cinemascore (one of only three movies so far this year to receive that lofty grade). It's going to become a classic.

Any DUer looking for some light movie fun with a great story and message needs to go see Love, Simon. All of the young audience members loving this movie should give us all hope for the future.

We all loved it. I will say as a teacher I wasn't in love with the way the adults of the school were portrayed but that is how those movies roll. I wish it had done a bit better box office but if it improves due to the good reviews and word of mouth it should do well enough to let other movies like it be made by major studios.

On edit, I just read something that make me realize how good this film was, the way it handled the coming out. It wasn't just once and done but a multitiered process like it is in real life. Heck as a teacher I still come out to new people on a fairly regular basis.

I believe the Vice Principal was intended to be groan inducing but I thought he was depicted how teenagers sometimes see authority figures who are not their parents. He was played for comic relief and I thought he was great.

As for Ms. Albright, the exasperated drama teacher, I loved her. In fact, I wanted more scenes with her. I hope there are outtakes or deleted scenes with her on the blu-ray.

One thing I think the film captured exceptionally well was Simon’s nervous, single-minded anticipation while waiting for Blue’s emails and his tranquility while writing and conversing via email with Blue. Those were terrific and universal moments of young, first love.

I remember thinking the film seemed kind of lame when I first saw the trailer a couple of months ago. Then last week I noticed the film was receiving some great reviews so I decided to check it out. The film was outstanding. I am glad I gave it a chance.

he slayed on Veep and I agree he did a good job with his material here. And you do have a point that it is what kids often think of us.
