Running list of every movie I've seen. And how to create your own. (Also useful for other lists)

For a couple of years now I've been keeping a running list of every movie I've ever seen on IMDB. IMDBs vast database and useful list feature makes this rather easy and fun to do. I'm sure I've mist lots of films from years gone by that I can't remember seeing any more but I've been careful to go back through large lists of the most well known films, searched by directors and actors and more to fill in as much of this as I can. I'm up to 406 films so far with more being added when I watch a new one, or dig one up one I remember having seen. Here's me list:

http://www.imdb.com/list/P9xbcodnSAk/

-------------------------------------------

And here's how to create you own

1. First you have to have an IMDB account, which is easy to create.

2. Once you have created your account and are logged in, go to the IMDB home page and look under your login name in the top right corner. There should be a drop down list here, click on "Your Lists"

3. Now click on "create a new list" in the top right. It's a bit confusing that this link isn't with the lists themselves but is in the top right of the page.

4.Chose the type of list you are making (Titles, People, Images etc), Name your list, and give it a description.

5.Start adding titles to your list!

6.Important! Click on "change list settings" in the upper right when you are in edit mode. Here you can choose to make your list public or private, it has to be public if you want to post a link to it here. And you can turn comments off (I recommend turning comments off, as this will avoid spammers and trolls from posting comments on your list!). You can also chose how your list is displayed, alphabetical etc.

Note: For those who are spread sheet savvy you can export your list as a csv file too and work with it that way.

I love that Brazil comes up at the top of your list. nt valerief Jan 2014 #1
Interesting. I have it set to alphabetic order when I see the list myself... Locut0s Jan 2014 #2
I don't put any depth into the film. I see it as a fun, dystopic romp. valerief Jan 2014 #3

But it seems to go back to "list order" when you are logged out or someone else is viewing it. The reason Brazil is #1 is that it happens to be the first I added to the list, not so much that it was my favorite film. I actually have mixed feelings about Brazil
