Verboten! 1959

A movie I’d recommend on Amazon Prime that I saw a couple of nights ago- It’s called Verboten! from 1959. Black and white, with nobody you know in the cast, and theme song by Paul Anka, but don’t hold that against the movie. It’s about the period between the surrender of the Germans in the war and the attempt to re-organize and rebuild the population. World War II is over. Inside occupied Germany, neo-Nazi insurgents called Werwolves wage a campaign of terror aimed at undermining the American Military Government.

There is a part where they feature the Nuremberg trials, with film clips of the concentration camps. I had to avert my eyes. The opening speech at the trials could have been taken from today’s honest headlines. Watch out for Werewolves.
