Actor William Sampson Jr. was #BornOnThisDay, Sept. 27, 1933.Remembered for his film role as "Chief Bromden"in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975). Suffering from scleroderma,a chronic degenerative condition he passed from kidney failure in 1987(age 53) #RIP #gonetoosoon #BOTD

In the book, which he narrated (a little unreliably), Bromden was a vicious, dangerous psychopath.

His granddaughter played a spirit in the last episode. And Willie Jack's last name is Sampson.
