From Russia With Love was also excellent. Both films followed the novels fairly closely and the scripts weren’t riddled with double entendres and other silly lines. The first two films retained the gritty and harsh characteristics of James Bond

In my opinion, these qualities disappeared from the movies until the remake of Casino Royale.

Joseph Wiseman as Dr. No defined the evil megalomaniac for all the subsequent films. Ursula Andress… need I say more? Jack Lord (pre-Hawaii-50) as Felix Leiter was terrific as a CIA agent.

Obviously, I love the film! Sean Connery is James Bond.
