Related: About this forumI got my A1C test results today
It was a pleasant surprise: 6.1! My doc decreased my metformin dosage by half, from 500mg twice a day to just once a day, in the morning.
The decrease was spurred on because I was getting hypoglycemia, especially after exercise or periods of hard work.

(11,856 posts)I was very disappointed with my last reading: 9.3 !! This is after more than 10 years of staying below 7. Not sure whats going on,but I'll keep at it.
Hope you continue with the good numbers.

(11,856 posts)At first, both my doctor and my insurance provider did not want authorize it, so I had to pay the full cost. ($350. a month) After six months or so, it dropped to $90.00.
Well, smart assed me decided I could get by on the old glucapage regime until I could better afford the Invokana....silly me. Well, when I saw that 9.3 I rushed to get the proven drug and was shocked and elated to find the cost had dropped again, to $45.00.
70 more days until next blood work....I'm motivated.
