My parent is having a hard time opening OTC childproof medication bottles

Is there a way to un-childproof the bottles?

1. Ask pharmacist for non kid proof emptied & tape on a "label"

2. My brother has labeled

little glass milk bottles with the OTC Med so my mom doesn't have to jerk around with the caps. Also - Alleve comes in non child proof caps - but for example - Wal-Greens sells out pretty quickly.

8. Yes. Mine are easy screw tops.

I told the pharmacy there’s no children in my house, there’s no children coming to my house and I don’t need childproof caps.

They waste less plastic and there’s so much easier!

5. Walgreens

Our Walgreens will put snap on caps for our prescriptions if we request them. For over the counter meds we just use small little Tupperware like containers with a home made labels.

PS. I have arthritis in my hands and if is very difficult for me to open the child proof bottles.

7. You can alter the caps for him with a sharp knife or some kind of cutter.

The ones that say press down and turn are actually two part lids. You can slice the outer layer and remove it, leaving just a screw on cap. The ones were you have to match the arrows and open them have a little tab on the inside of the lid that you can cut out, then it's just a lift off cap.

9. 50 for $10.99

I am like your parent. You can get 50 for 10.99 at Amazon and there are other options also. Even if you just use one occasionally from the package of 50 it would be worth it. But I would definitely ask the pharmacist for non child-proof but they don't always do it for some reason. I feel for you guys.

10. I replace mine with caps from vitamin bottles. a lot of caps are same size.

11. Aleve has a special arthritis-sufferer top

it has rubber around the edge to make opening the bottle easier to open. I have one now.
