With another deal, UConn star Paige Bueckers is reshaping the endorsement world

Paige Bueckers still has nine months left in her playing career with UConn women’s basketball.

But the star is already making plans — historic plans — for her future.

Bueckers recently signed a name, image and likeness deal with Unrivaled, the professional 3x3 women’s basketball league created by former Husky stars Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier. And while Bueckers won’t play in the league until her collegiate career is over in 2026, the partnership makes her the first college athlete to receive ownership equity in a professional league.

It's a monumental move in the world of NIL.

Not only does it show how college athletes have more control than ever over their future professional careers, but it introduces a new generation of professional women’s basketball players who no longer have to play overseas during the WNBA offseason to make ends meet.
