UConn star forward Alex Karaban named preseason First Team All-American
Star UConn forward Alex Karaban was named to the 2024-25 Blue Ribbon Report Preseason All-America First Team, the yearbook announced Tuesday.
Karaban, a two-time national champion, is entering his third season with the Huskies after withdrawing from the 2024 NBA Draft this spring.
One of UConn’s most consistent players, Karaban started in all but two games over the last two championship seasons. He averaged 9.3 points and 4.5 rebounds while shooting over 40% from beyond the arc to be unanimously named to the Big East All-Freshman team in 2022-23, and upped his contribution to 13.3 points and 5.1 rebounds last season.
Karaban is set to be one of the Huskies’ top scoring options as he looks to complete the three-peat as a redshirt-junior this season.
