Welcome to the Populist Reform of the Democratic Party Group, also known as the Populist Reform Group (or just PRG).
I hope you make this spot your DU home page. Please check the PRG Folder, and share your ideas and content... we especially appreciate your positive strategies for populist, progressive reform of our Democratic party.
The PRG is a safe house for DUers interested in the progressive, populist reform of our Democratic party.
If you disagree with PRG's message or goal, that's OK. Find a group that fits, or enjoy the DU forums.
Everyone starts out as welcomed. No one earns their way in - only their way out.
Follow all DU rules. Don't put the group at risk
If you have questions or concerns, ask a host (demwing / NYC_SKP / MannyGoldstein).

(18,318 posts)As I said in another post, the only juice they can work up is when they face liberal opposition; they certainly can't and won't fight the FR.

(12,977 posts)I'm frankly not sure the Democratic Party can be saved from itself -- but whether it can or not, a group with the quality of this one is bound to generate some fascinating discussions and useful ideas. So count me in.

regarding progressive issues without the disruptors. IMHO this should not be GD where anything goes. As far as I am concerned, everyone is welcome if they are not here to be rude or disruptive.

(34,348 posts)but I expect to read here often. Although we have different end goals (yours - reform the dem party, me - rid the world of capitalism) we certainly share in our concern for the working class and I vote accordingly. Good luck w/your new home.
we should rely on natural alliances to help organize, and to achieve common goals.

(7,321 posts)I'm subscribed to the Socialist Group, but I sometimes feel like we're just singing to the choir there. Which is ok too in that news and information is shared which would otherwise "sink" in main forums like GD. Looking forward to subscribing to this forum..

(7,321 posts)and maybe post it in a pinned thread? just curious.
Now that HRC is about to make it official, I'm going to unsubscribe GD - avoid that place as much as I can and just come to this and socialists progressive group etc. It would be interesting to see how many other du members do the same..

(2,760 posts)I look forward to some great discussions. I am the product of a far right family that embraced progressive values at age 10, during the HUAC nastiness. My hero was Edward R. Murrow, much to my parent's chagrin. My mother died at age 97 having never forgiven me.

(16,916 posts)To DU, and to the Populist Reform of the Democratic Party Group. Our acronym is PROTDPG, which is awkward, and when spoken, sounds something like a stifled sneeze. Most folks refer to us as the Populist Reform Group, or the PRG. May you always find a home here!

(1,163 posts)I'm still fighting, the fight for reform will not end, but what are some of the other boards that we can use to enact change.
DU is great, but I worry that reformers might not find it pleasant to post here if Sanders doesn't win.
demwing
(16,916 posts)I knew that DU would need a format to criticize the corrupt establishment, without it being an anti-Hillary extension of the primary (which would get us all tombstoned). I've been on this site since shortly after it was created, & I'm not about to just walk away after 15 years.
And Bernie's not out yet. There's still about 30% of states still to vote, including Cali and Oregon. Let's see what happen over the next month.
In the meantime, I encourage you (and all others who demand reforms) to post in the Populist Reform Group. Let your voices be heard.
CentralCoaster
(1,163 posts)I'd rather, of course, not need to do so much reform but the need is more urgent than ever!

Im actually excited to see some new and innovative ideas here instead of ducking and running for cover every time i post.
