(770 posts)When he came into the presidency, he was just a two-bit hustler con-man with steaks, and "university" scams, the "foundations/charities." He thought he was on the money-game, hustling for a buck to pay off his debts, staying one step ahead of bad shit coming down on him.
Then, well, now he's actually learned something, maybe for the first time in his life, he learned - how to use real power to induce pain and get not only money, but power, real power. And he's found he actually likes the power more than money. He likes the pain, the chaos, the revenge and suffering he can inflict with his levers of power. He's got a real taste for it now. And it never occurs to him, NEVER, to use the levers for actual benefit of the country.
Now he's going for it, at whatever cost, and who here has the same confidence in, for example, the Supreme Court.
Yes, the SC may hold in this next test, but who feels confident that the SC is not loaded with fanatical ideas that are out-of-American-mainstream and that they will assist in further exploding voting rights in the near future. (I am sure they see, as all Republicans do RIGHT NOW, that voting rights are a BIG problem and must be curtailed)
