Decertify Democratic Progressive Caucus of Florida, Urges Party Leader
http://www.sunshinestatenews.com/story/decertify-democratic-progressive-caucus-florida-urges-party-leaderDemocrats close to Florida party leadership are buzzing over the bold call Monday from Democratic progressives to replace senatorial candidate Patrick Murphy with Alan Grayson -- and an equally bold, retaliatory call the very next day from a party executive chair to disband the Democratic Progressive Caucus of Florida.
Fuming over the attempt to sabotage FDP's choice to run for Marco Rubio's seat, Celeste Bush, DEC chair of St. Lucie County, said in an email distributed Tuesday, "Yesterday an unprecedented action was taken by Susan Smith, (president) of the 'Democratic' Progressive Caucus and Nancy Jacobson, an elected DNC member. "They called a press conference to discredit Congressman Patrick Murphys run for U.S. Senate. You may have seen some of the news stories."
snip......
"This action runs counter to our Democratic Partys very existence," wrote Bush. "We cannot have 'so called' Democrat leaders aggressively attacking an elected Democrat or any Democrat running for office. A Democratic leader is just that a leader of Democrats not just some Democrats that fit a preconceived notion of what constitutes a Democrat."
snip....
"The experiment with having a Democratic Progressive Caucus has obviously failed. They have assumed power they do not have. ... Susan declared that the progressives were the grassroot, foot soldiers of the party and that without them we would have trouble electing Democrats. She stated that her caucus was the bridge that tied the progressives to the Democrats. I would say that it was a 'Bridge Too Far!'
This was characterized as "fantasy" in another thread. By those who are all fucking fluttery about being called operatives.
This, IMO, illustrates just how much in contempt Progressives are regarded in this new Corporate Third Way Party.
The "Democratic" label has become meaningless.

(13,712 posts)The GOP should pay thre Florida Demcoratic party to run. It does a much better job of keeping GOP in power than the GOP ever could.

(14,255 posts)if you don't want Third Wayers is bullshit. The DNC will only back the Third Way types. And if they happen to win, of course they govern/legislate like, um, Third Wayers.

Could that work in reverse? Can you decertify individuals?

I would love to see Grayson run. Looks like the Party will make sure he does not. This is the little gotcha behind those condescending work within the party remarks - in many cases, the party already has a chosen one and that is who gets the money and the backing. The game is most certainly rigged.

She is NOT interested in helping Democrats win, as it is about securing HER power base, which is done by offering the GOP at least 60 percent of whatever they want and sayign we should be thankful it was not 99.999 percent.
