Larry Summers and the Secret "End-Game" Memo (collapse of the world economy)
X post from GD. I don't want to detract from the discussion by posting it just here. Too important not to be discussed in full. I'm pretty sure what members of this group think

(17,997 posts)I will have to look it up.
I have been trying to write an original article about this, the link with both Clintons, the Iraq war vote and how that has translated into continued campaign money. I decided to start with the Greg Palast article. Absolutely no one could do it better anyway

(17,997 posts)This has just weighed heavy on my mind. When I have asked how it can be ignored by Clinton supporters, I receive no real response. As you can tell from the GD post.

(62,325 posts)Rec'ing this again as it is so important. Imagine if we had a real news media? Imagine how much more informed people would be and how much more difficult it would be for politicians to issue the same old platitudes knowing that most of the voting public has no clue what they are really up to?
I consider the loss of a real free press to be the most important contributer to the current state of affairs.
Great post, thank you mary.

(17,997 posts)I have to admit, I have a major crush on Greg Palast. Intelligence and integrity get me going
I agree that the loss of a real investigative press, even a press that reports truth and fact, is a bug part of our downfall. President Obama jailing a member of the press is so far from what he pretended to stand for tthat I can't even wrap my head around it.

(62,325 posts)Gets me too every time. It's rare these days especially among what we call 'journalists'.
