Legal MJ in Maine.. Do other states copy your ID when entering a shop?

I was in Portland and Went to a shop. They wanted to make a copy of my ID... Ahh no..
Look at it to see if I was old enough...ok.. Copy my info, no... I walked out...
Question.. is this normal? (no pun intended) Do other states make copies of your info?

They always ask for the ID before you check out even though they looked at it when you checked in at the front door and when you came to the back for pickup. Once a clerk placed a paper in my bag that was an old flyer for an expired sale and I told them I didn't need it. He said they were required by law to put an instruction and interaction guide in every bag (even though they were out at the moment, thus the other sheet) and that the security cameras recorded this in case the state regulators needed to verify.

Ask them if this is a CYA move or ask other users and others who visit other dispensaries and see if this is a thing.

Its hard to not be super paranoid when it was so illegal for so long. I was going for more than a year before I stopped being nervous, just waiting for DEA to rappel down the side of the building and raid the place every time I went in.

MT, they haven't allowed recreational yet but coming soon. Medical has been around for years. For medical, you have to register with the state every year and when you change address, they have all your info, have to show your state medical mj card with each purchase.

I present my med card and driver’s license every time I go in. I waited so long for it to be legal it’s a hoop I don’t mind jumping through.

It's still illegal.

But medical prescriptions are allowed through specially approved clinics.

All my ID had to be submitted, residence permit, passport.. and I have to undergo a regular checkup if I continue to purchase my "Prescription".

And I am required to purchase CBD oil in conjunction with TCH oil because you're obviously not supposed to get high. lol.

You consume 5ml of CBD oil and you can enjoy a bit of a buzz on its own.

Unfortunately, I'm charged £200 for the CBD oil and £100 for the THC. It's a bit of ripoff -and it's MONTHLY.

Thankfully you can buy seeds legally here - but of course you can't germinate them. Who would ever think about that?
