Remember Thai Sticks?...

This is the plant that brought you those sticks…Wild Thai.

Just starting to move into pre-flower. I was screwing around in the tent and thought I’d shoot a pic. Also working on an El Alquimista strain that’s in about the same development stage. I’m using the organic fertilizer method used on an earlier grow this summer. Stored up chopped comfrey over the summer, we always have worm castings on hand.
Buds you may notice in the background are a F3 stability grow with everything looking good as long as it keeps popping out buds and not bananas.

Trying to limit inhalation of smoke. For the last year it was 2 puffs at night to help fall asleep. Sometimes it worked, others not so much.
Trying gummies now. (10 mg THC:2.5 mg CBN). Eat one about 10:00 pm and fall asleep about an hour later. 4:1 THC:CBN, Indic’s Enhanced.
Seems to be the perfect mix for a good night sleep. About $1.00/dose. Rx drugs for sleep scare me.

only thing to calm me down and cut down the angst. I'm 83, give me gummies anytime over pharmaceuticals. There is really no pain medicine for shingles, it's pretty much grin and bear it.

and it's almost easier to list what's still working over what isn't.

Usually this time of year, I'm in the depths of depression, lots of death anniversaries including one from murder, my parents were always moving so I was losing friends and possessions and gearing up to be the new kid in school again. To call it depression is to understate it. Prescription drugs never worked. Cannabis does, half a square of chocolate every few days.

So I'll sit here with a newly legal smile and probably post ragtime now and then. However, the shit works for me.

I'm using a hybrid sativa/indica mix. I have another bar of indica, only, and I'm looking forward to trying it.

The stuff does little for pain, alas. My doc took one look at me last visit and called in my opiate prescription before anything else. Some pain requires the big guns, and I've been on opiates off and on (mostly off) since I was 15.

I've had phenomenal luck with outdoor growing over the past 8 years. I've always used quality soil and good growing enhancements, and each plant (between 2 and 4 per season) has always produced between 10 and 16 oz of high potency weed. And I've always had WAY too much for personal/family consumption, so I've given away much more than we've used. (Our state law prohibits selling privately.) This last growing season, I grew only two plants and bagged about 20 oz.

But there's too much information floating around that seems to indicate that cannabis inflames coronary arteries. For those with heart problems, it's likely a bad choice for recreation. But the jury of research results is still out. With so many states legalizing recreational use, the final tally of health issues related to cannabis use should show up in cardiac care units in hospitals and not so much in laboratories. We should all be eager to hear of comprehensive studies with epidemiological and demographic features. In the meantime, and this is my opinion only, we should be wary that cannabis use CAN have negative and serious health consequences. It's growing more likely, although still not a certainty, that marijuana use as a healthy and harmless recreational choice is a myth.

Had to stop vaping cannabis after having having a major episode of racing pulse and feeling out of control …. and I was no amateur, lol. Thought I was going to end up in the ER, but it settled down after a bit, it had to toss it all. Too inflammatory and dangerous for this old fart. Obviously, ymmv, as I said, I have major heart issues, but it is a real concern.

There is a full spectrum for cancer treatment and other diseases called Rick Simpson oil or RSO that isn't smoked but either eaten at high doses or applied topically. Then there is CO2 extracted oil used in vapes and edibles with different 'strains' made by adding essential oil terpines. And finally the new wave is called Live Resin, where they freeze the fresh flower and then directly steam distill it with out any curing. But old school alcohol extracted oil isn't around much if at all.

the first really good pot i ever smoked. I got lost in Manhattan Beach, where I hung out all the time.

to be fair many years later and stone cold sober i got lost in culver city more than once. culver city should be razed and replaced with a city that makes some kind of sense. i've never had a sense of direction and it's just not fair.

Nice smooth smoke. Seed was a gift from a friend an extra from a purchase he made from a breeder, World of Seeds. He has an account and they gift him freebies with purchases.
I’m experimenting with breeding autos trying for a quick turnaround of about 10 weeks from germination till harvest.

I’m giving you a link to explain Autoflower cannabis, it’ll be much better than I can.

https://www.royalqueenseeds.com/us/content/18-autoflowering-cannabis-seeds

I grow in soil now, I started in hydroponics. Moved to 7 gallon grow bags a few years ago. Reason was to move to total organic grows with home grown fertilizers. I do in my gardens, why not in the grow tent?

Since Michigan became legal we can become more open with grow ideas. A very loose group around me exchange tips. We are trying to cut costs of growing. Fertilizers are a big expense first place to try to cut costs.
Lighting is not optional being so far north so all we did there is move to full spectrum lighting, ridding ourselves of the damned “Burple” glow. Costs are yet to be determined but preliminary projections look good.
Now we are working on breeding our own Autoflower seeds since they run, on average, 10 to 15 bucks per seed for good genetics. I’m popping a couple to see what shape they’re now.

We use a compact fluorescents to power our winter veggie grow, so moving to full spectrum all over is looking like a good direction.

You are seeing why I’m granting you a link to explain Autoflower cannabis. I talk way too much.

The first time I had some was sitting in an apartment at Morrison Grove Apts. in Manteo, NC. (Yep, cast lodgings for The Lost Colony production.) One of the main stars brought two strains with him from his place in FL. One was Okeechobee Purple, which was pretty devastating. The other was the Thai and it was even stronger. It was a great rookie summer!
