Cannabis
Related: About this forumHuge benefits of dietary cannabinoids. (Yay new group!)
http://www.rawhemp.tk/Here's a quote from the article by a local doctor friend of mine who is a leading authority on dietary cannabis.
Dr. Courtney and his wife Kristen began juicing cannabis after experimenting with raw cannabis. For many years, Kristen struggled with systemic lupus. When her condition improved dramatically following several weeks of saturating with raw cannabis, they were convinced they had discovered a cure for chronic illness. Kristen shares, "You wouldn't consider a Diabetic addicted to Insulin. I have an Endogenous Cannabinoid Deficiency. When I drink the leaf, I feel more attentive, more awake. I can breathe better. I don't get heartburn or stomach pain, or feel muscle weakness or lower back or pelvic pain. By eating it, I am able to saturate much more so than I could. Even if I was smoking all day long, I wouldn't be able to saturate as heavily as I can juicing. I think the anti-fungal and anti-bacterial which is CBN, and the THCA and Cannabidiol are all helpful. But I think, more importantly, it is the interplay of all the cannabinoids together that causes the most benefit. That when you isolate each one and take it alone, or take it as a pure synthetic it can't have the benefits. It doesn't have the same effects that they all have together. I thought: How does everyone not know about this. I felt right then and there my focus in life had to be helping other people in my same situation to get this information to use as well."

(23,867 posts)Juicing is working because it provides the cannabinoid acids, which are potent compounds that help regulate the endocannabinoid system in ways not fully understood just yet. When you juice properly, you consume almost no THC or CBD, it is all THCA and CBDA! That is why you dont receive any psychoactive effects.
Argh, I can't find the article that goes into the biology of how cannabinoids regulate important functions in the body.
When I talked with Dr. Courtney recently he claimed that many people are sick today due to cannabinoid deficiency. In other words, we used to eat the plant in our natural environment. .And now that we have ceased doing so, we're experiencing all kinds of ailments.

Thanks for the videos and links.

(10,998 posts)I learned a lot from the videos. The hemp oil is quite expensive. I'm leaning towards juicing daily. I did wheatgrass for years.

(23,867 posts)Make sure they have actually tested the content because we just found out the one I've been taking wasn't that high. So I'm now using another variety.
Ironically, the dispensaries are geared toward getting high, and employees often look confused when I ask for buds to ingest.
Also, my dispensary just began selling juiced leaves. I'm drinking that every day now.
It's so weird because I got my card in order to start getting high after a 12 year haitus, and realized it just didn't work for me anymore. Oh well, it was a grand forty years of getting high and living in prohibition times. Exciting and fun, and busted.

(10,998 posts)I will need to find an MMJ doc here, New Mexico, and get a card. I have a juicer was juicing wheatgrass, but I have a black thumb :-/
Same same on the high, back in the early to mid seventies I was fun, I would laugh and be creative. Now it makes me comatose, even a teeny bit.

(15,406 posts)will not make you high. In order to get the high, cannabis must be heated.
As stated already, a plant with more CBD is more medically beneficial. CBD is for healing, while THC gets you high.
For muscle/joint pain, rub cannabis oil (or Love Potion, as I call it) in your skin. You'll be amazed how much it helps.

(205 posts)...the juice tastes horrible;
some sortta extract is called for,
it doesn't have to be decarboxylated--
so it can be made with no "psycho-activity"...

(6,602 posts)how can I possibly do this? I only have access to the dried leaf, the video shows them using fresh-would that work?
Thank you for this - I had no idea. I just love learning.

(6,602 posts)That's not going to be something I can do then. I can't grow my own, so that just won't be possible. Thank you, anyway- now I know.
geologic
(205 posts)...you can make yer own extracts outta what you've got--
and you don't have to decarboxylate 'em if you don't wanna get high...
geologic
(205 posts)maybe they figured out a way to mask the taste these days...
geologic
(205 posts)...and that would be the "whole plant marterial"
["google" that]
not some stripped-down "CBD miracle"...

... but I was obliquely referring there to states that are allowing CBD-only extracts--
when there is much evidence that all the cannabanoids have a synergistic relationship...

(23,867 posts)According to Dr. Courtney, the cannabis plant evolved right along side the human being, and has benefits that are vital to a number of processes in the human body. In other words, it's actually necessary for our health.
It's like any plant or vegetable in that whole is better, and raw is best.

(22,040 posts)Those items are available in states regardless of the status of MJ legalization. It would be great to get the benefits of cannabinoids so easily.

(23,867 posts)I don't think the seeds cut it. And I also say that because if you tried to smoke seeds, they wouldn't get you high. There isn't enough THCA in them.
Whole plant, fresh plant.
