The wood blocks help keep the canopy level under the light.

I have the lights on all the time...no dark period. The drawback for most autoflowers are that they don't yield as much as the standard photoperiod varieties. However...they are quick!

Not sure about a switchable LED.
My light is awesome and for my 3x3 area 1 is enough.
LEC, I am told, penetrates much better than LED.

Your pictures are so nostalgic. I invented a hydroponic system back in the mid 80's. I was lucky enough to be in school with an ornimental horitculture major who had this stuff dialed in. Our buds were every bit as good as what I'm buying now. It's a lot of work. Keeping the ph around 5.2 if I recall. Thanks for bringing back memories with your post.

21. I'm not a pot grower, but I'm interested in giving my regular garden an early start.

I am guessing pretty much all plants respond similarly to grow lights, and was wondering if anyone had suggestions for getting the best growth with the least power. Do I want to look into those red or blue LED panels? My peppers, for instance, never get big enough during the season; I'd love to give them a month or two of extra time before moving them outside in the spring.

27. Get ratchet straps for your light.

Sun Grips makes a solid pair. It's so much easier then the blocks you're using and better for teh root zone if you can keep it as undisturbed as possible. Looks great friend

29. I am using them

The purpose of the blocks is to maintain an even canopy height. Plants are different heights.

I'm constantly moving the light up at this point to maintain about 18" away. For this light that is about as close as you'd want to get in order to avoid bleaching.

With autoflowers you do not want to top them or trim at all. Even low stress training is a bit tough on them because of their short life cycle.

So far so good.

43. 46 days old now

Trichomes are still mostly clear even though hairs are turning red. The plant I bent the tip over on is maturing slower than the others but it was that way prior to my LST.

Patience and watching the trichomes is what's needed now.
Not bad for 46 days from seed. The LEC grow light is kicking butt!
