Related: About this forumDoes anyone here buy CBD oil online?
There are a lot of retailers online that sell different products with prices that vary quite a bit. Does anyone have experience with this and have a seller they use and trust? I'm looking for a friend with a nonspecific autoimmune disorder with a main symptom of inflammation in joints. So far the drugs they have tried are not doing much and the doctor is considering moving on to more serious chemo type drugs. I have been reading some good things about CBD oil and think it's worth a try. I mentioned it to her and she is interested in trying it. Can someone recommend a place to buy?

(3,473 posts)Several sites say they ship to all 50 states. Either way, I'll take my chances if there is a chance it can help.

(39,358 posts)Try a local head shop, they should have a few brands in stock.
I've tried Koi, Diamond, Black Iguana and they seem to be ok, but I quickly had to escalate doses and strength to 500mg and bottles run $50-70. I have to take a lot to get the relief that smoking a bowl provides. I've got tons of autoimmune issues and take plaquenil and methotrexate.

(3,473 posts)but she is maxed out on the dose and may need something stronger. Does it help with inflammation?

(39,358 posts)and connective tissues. My inflammation stays relative to how I feel that day based on what's happening to the rest of my body.
I started on azathioprine but that made me puke my brains out for days.

(113,130 posts)to the point that I'd have to skip a dose just to set foot in a supermarket.
MTX never made me nauseated, possibly because I injected it (it was cheaper that way), but all I had to do is lean over to pick something up off the floor and I'd puke. It was weird.
All these sound awful but they can be miraculous if you can tolerate them and if you can stay off the biologics, that's a very good thing.

(4,982 posts)Seriously-I am limited in my efforts, but without CBD I have problems with my daily activities. I am now going to buy organic. I have been using Plus CBD. It also helps with my sleep disorder. You can also buy hemp tea on EBAY-or hemp with flowers. I have done so twice. A tea works well also.

(21,716 posts)did you buy? I was on Ebay and saw the Elev8 tea, but it was made with hemp oil, not leaf. There was also a German brand of leaf tea, and I bought that instead. It's a bit pricey at $11 for a box of 12 tea bags, but thought I'd give it at least a try.
58Sunliner
(4,982 posts)I'll give that a google.

(39,358 posts)It looks like this:
This is a CBD Hemp oil tincture. It is unflavored but tastes a little "grassy" (as in the grass in your front lawn not marijuana-y). Some CBD oils are made with propylene glycol which makes it feel like you have alcohol under your tongue, but this is made with coconut and red palm oil.
I can find it in my local head shop for $40-50.
I do not get paid by this company but as a person with lupus, a neuromuscular disease, peripheral neuropathy, and other gripes and moans, I can say that it is fast acting and will knock out anxiety and tension.

(18,282 posts)Its called Fountain of Youth CBD oil and apparently has 4x the amt of cbd. Its from Colorado..im in Wash state and I would rather shop local..but apparently Colorado can grow hemp that is really low in THC and Wash state cant...???? Anyway the website is www.fohcbd.com The person showing me gave a code WELOVEYOU and her name is Tracey. Shes the CEO of the Providers group. When her name is mentioned shes sent some sample bottles that she provides to cancer pts. Comes in many yummy flavors too. I cant recommend it as I havent tried it but theres all the info for anyone interested in looking into it. I THINK she said it comes in 2 sizes.. starting at 50$.

(13,428 posts)I sleep like a baby when I use it, but am groggy the next day with worse symptoms than before. I have Meniere's Disease and had hoped it would help. Maybe I'm taking too much of the tincture (about half the recommended dose last time) but I am not happy with how it makes me feel at all.
I bought it at the local food co-op. It's supposed to be organic. Chocolate mint flavor. Smells kinda dank, but not terrible.

(3,529 posts)from a company called Populum. Their product is grown in Colorado and is supposedly really high quality. Their full spectrum hemp oil has a mild orange flavor and there's no bad taste like some have. It's pricey, though. A one-month bottle is $70 for 250mm strength and goes up from there. I mainly wanted to try their topical hemp rub for my hands. They get really painful this time of year. I'm hoping all of it helps with the aches and pains of getting older.

(1 post)After trying around 12 online companies/retailers of CBD oil and with an experience of 2.5 years of using this oil for my joint pain issues I would recommend you go with Nuleaf Naturals or Ananda Hemp. They both are on a little pricey side as compared to the competition but their products are very well deserved.
The CBD oil from these companies are pure and has a very low amount of THC. I also love both of them because they are very transparent about their production and extraction process.
These both have helped me and are continuously helping me with my problem and I can say that it will help your friend too. Mark my words Experience says it all!

(16,110 posts)Oregon has very high testing standards for cbd products. There's a lady I know who prodiuces cbd oils and even has customers in Buffalo NY. She works directly with Oregon based hemp producers for her raw materals -- so again, highly regulated. I hear good things about her products. I think she only advertises online on Facebook:
search FB for Rockin Robin's Rub-Ons of Hemp and ypou'kll find her. Her prices are about half what you find in stores.
ps -- I think she also will send samples if requested.

We do buy some online right now, but it is kind of an experiment right now.

(38,197 posts)I saw on one site where they now have honey infused with CBD, but I don't know which web pages are legit companies and which might be credit card stealing sites.
Have you come across any brands of CBD for anxiety infused into honey or as honey flavor that are not so expensive and that I might can find through legit links online? I agree with you that regulation would help greatly. I don't want to just randomly pick a site online to order from and find out it wasn't even legit. Just because I don't have tons to spend and want something cheaper to try doesn't mean I need to lose everything to scammers online. So, regulation would help greatly.
CBD is legal where I live, but I don't want to pay the super high prices without knowing what works for anxiety and what doesn't. I would like to try CBD for anxiety, but not at such an expensive price, in case I end up being unlucky and getting a dud that does no good at all for anxiety. I'm like Jordy Verrill in that regard. If I didn't have bad luck, I would have any luck at all. I have been reading into it a lot online and many sites mention how it helps people sleep. That is not what I need. I have my Melatonin for that. It makes you wonder why sleeping pills even exist. I'm looking for something for anxiety, not something to make me sleep.

(63,201 posts)Right now the stuff Mrs. Lib and I are using comes from a website for a company that is selling their products through stores in our area. The stuff is expensive.
I am using it for some specific back issues and my wife is using it for other medical issues. So I am know little about anxiety. No idea even where to tell you to go. My wife has discussed it with her doctor because the doctor wants to learn from my wife.
Wish I could be of more help, but it is kind of the wild west out there.
FWIW our most recent purchase came from this website: https://www.pluscbdoil.com/
I make no recommendation for them. I did call the 800 number listed on that page and talked to a "consultant" for about an hour. He was quite informative, but I have no idea if he was just some guy off the street or someone who had actually done some studies.

(21,716 posts)I like Lazarus Naturals because their prices are better than most, with higher cbd concentration. Their salve is awesome and WORKS. They even have a discount plan for veterans, disabled, etc.
Another place is the Hemp Barn in PA. They have cbd isolate (in powder form), $15 for 1000mg, and at times, sales. I use the isolate to make my own tincture. Very easy, and cheaper and stronger than even Lazarus Naturals. Hemp Barn also sells a high potency lip balm (250mg), and sells a couple of strains of cbd/cbg flower, that they purchase from a grower in Oregon.

(18,282 posts)...says its helpful. Ive tried hemp oil and its just meh. So Im not sure if CBD would be any better. I can give you the name of a place where you can get this stuff for cheap cheap...and free!... message me if you would like the info. At least your friend can try it and not spend tons of money.
On another note has the dr tried immuneotherapy? Hubby had several sessions to shrink a small tumor. Fewer side effects than chemo.

(18,282 posts)....I get mine online for free or for a cpl bucks. For my dogs too.
So heres the site:' REBATE KEYS' and another is 'ELITE DEALS'. Just so no one will holler to MIRT that I'm pushing a site or product I wont give the urls...just search. These two sites are legit and Ive been doing them for years...I pretty much only go to Rebate Keys now. There are rules to get on the sites...just follow them and you will have so much hemp oil you will be giving it away..which is what i end up doing.
Our local drug store even sells hemp/cbd cream...
Hope this helps.
