Pending hire, they will test. They say they will also test if you show up impaired, but I've never known anyone to be tested randomly or even under suspicion. When I was at the orientation for the job--and this was over three years ago--the union representative who spoke to us said they are trying to make an exception for medical marijuana but I haven't heard if that has happened yet. The HMO I work for is known for progressive practices, so I expect it to become a non-issue at some point. I also know employees who imbibe seemingly w/o concern.
