What are the state and local taxes on legal, recreational pot

in states that currently have it in place. On Jan 1st, CA lawmakers expect a windfall when it is made legal here. They expect that a 45% tax will be charged in parts of the state. OUCH!! San Diego already charges 8%+ for medical weed. This would give the state $5 BILLION in new revenue!

I have a California medical marijuana license and buy my stash at a store. On the street, you can get good weed fo $60 an eighth. At the store, you can get good weed for $40, and great weed for $50. Taxes don't hurt.

San Diego sucks when it comes to the City Counsel and the shit that they give to dispensaries and the taxes they impose are ridiculous.

and it will be left up to the local governments to choose how much tax they decide to charge and it could be up to 45%. I read this from a CNN article yesterday.
