(16,111 posts)no reason to doubt told me about a month ago that one of the many cannabis shops in my area of Oregon was selling (cant remember the name of the strain) for $25 an ounce! He said it was driven by surplus and that prices were way down all around; and that lower prices were driven in part by so many people in Oregon opting to grow their own.
But I dont have facts to back that up. However, I can also say that one of my sons says prices are way cheaper than street prices pre-legalization and regulation of recreational cannabis here. And thats with the 25% state tax on cannabis sales. Crazy world.

(18,282 posts)...I can get decent strains for under $60. I just invested in a BC Northern Lights Bloom box so for a cpl yrs I'm paying 500$ an oz!

(1,020 posts)Indica, oz (sold in *huge* eighth-ounce jars), all taxes included, out the door $420. About $120 in taxes in there.
It's less if you have a prescription. Once the state went Recreational, I stopped fussing with the prescription. There are Recreational taxes added for those of us that no longer want / use prescriptions.
$59oz. (big sigh)

(2,611 posts)When the first 2 dispensaries opened (finally after 2 years) to recreational, the lowest price was $300/oz. The dispensaries limit flower to recreational buyers to 3.5 grams for each visit. 2019 will see more licenses finalized and hopefully inventory will be plentiful enough for both medical and recreational and prices will drop.
