I think High School driver's ed classes in legal-pot states should start to cover pot use
Not in terms of 'just say no', but in terms of what to expect if you are planning to toke and drive.
Reason I say this, back when I was in driver's ed classes, 40+ years ago, it was the first place I actually had a reliable authority tell me about how drunk you get from 1 drink, 2 drinks, etc. The drinking age was 18 back then, so many of the students in the class were either already allowed to drink, or would be shortly. Before that class, my knowledge of alcohol consumption was all peer-based legend and observation of others.
I'm thinking this now, since I keep hearing about teenagers being kind of stupid with how much THC they are taking in and ending up in the hospital. I can verify first hand that Cannabinoid Hyperemesis Syndrome is a real thing (though not many people seem susceptible to it).
I think somebody needs to provide some real, practical truth to those about to turn 18, the way that I was taught that 1 beer == 1 glass wine == 1 shot liquor, that a teeny-tiny bit of wax is equivalent to a fairly large amount of bud, or if you start getting very sick over and over, and a hot shower soothes it, don't smoke more pot to cure it -- it might be causing it (just as I was taught that drinking the 'hair of the dog' does not work). It seems like the responsible thing to do in areas where marijuana is legal.
It's been almost impossible to talk about these things frankly and truthfully in public since the 1930's, but in legal-pot states, it seems a little irresponsible not to do it.
