O’Malley makes Wapello stop, says he’s excited to debate.

'Martin O’Malley spent time in the QCA Saturday, working to set himself apart from the other Democratic candidates.

We caught up with him at a house party in Wapello. He says Louisa County is the 48th county he has visited in the last 120 days. And he tells us he is feeling optimisitc as he speaks with voters.

He is also optimistic because the Democrats are starting to hold debates. He says Iowans are hungry to learn more about who the candidates really are, and what choices voters have.

“I’m excited,” O’Malley says. “Our Democratic race is now down to just three candidates. And now on the stage I think the differences will become very, very clear. I represent a new generation of Americans. I have, in my service, been an executive, a mayor and a governor who had to get things done.”

O’Malley says he has balanced budgets and pulled people together. He tells us Republicans aren’t the enemy, they are neighbors. He says both sides must work together to increase wages and bring change.'

I will support the eventual nominee, but comparing the Democratic candidates to the GOP candidates, the quality drop off from Democrat to GOP is marked. So sad for US politics when insult and slogan replace actual policies and positions.
