Tim Duncans benevolent spirit has remained a constant over the years, and the NBA legend shows no signs of slowing. Mr. Duncan recently sent six 40-foot trailers filled with cleaning supplies and hygiene products to share among teachers, students and organizations that help the homeless and abused.
According to a release issued Thursday, the items were sorted Saturday by volunteers from Neighborhood Pharmacy, Sun Stroke Promotions, ViVid Streaming, 10,000 Helpers and students at the Youth Rehabilitation Center.
Distribution started Saturday with YRC, Corrections and 10,000 Helpers receiving theirs. Distribution continued Wednesday with all public schools west of Central High School receiving their allotments. The V.I. Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Council and the Association for Assisted Living also received donations Wednesday.
Distribution continues Tuesday on St. Croix before trailers are sent to St. Thomas. The Virgin Islands Police Department has continued their support of Mr. Duncan and his recovery efforts. Acting Police Commissioner Jason Marsh has offered all available resources without straining the department to assist in this portion of Mr. Duncans recovery efforts, the release said.
