Positive cases on USS Theodore Roosevelt up to 447, more sailors moved off ship

Positive cases of COVID-19 continue to climb as more sailors from the virus-stricken USS Theodore Roosevelt move off the ship and into Guam hotels and isolation sites on Naval Base Guam.

As of Saturday, 447 crewmembers from the aircraft carrier have tested positive for COVID-19. The Navy reported 92% have been tested and 3,155 sailors moved ashore.

Joint Region Marianas officials have said the sailors have been moved into places on Naval Base Guam and into Guam hotels. Sailors who test positive and who are asymptomatic will be the only sailors quarantined in Tumon hotels and strictly monitored, Joint Region Marianas officials have said.

One sailor is in the ICU at Naval Hospital Guam. National media reported the sailor was found unresponsive.
