Perhaps you'd like to join them, though at the moment, they're busy calling Elizabeth Warren the C word, so I'm not sure I'd recommend it.

There was no purge. A bunch of shit-stirring jackasses flamed out and then acted like they did nothing wrong. Clearly, they haven't changed, and good riddance.

Yippee!
What do we get as a prize? Trump?
There was a concerted effort to drive people off-- just like your post suggested of me. It worked for quite a number. Please don't try to gaslight my experience. Please don't imply original DUers, like myself, should leave.

I think it will be interesting to see Tuesday's results. Logic would hold that one or more candidates will drop out of the contest this week. But our primaries do not seem to always follow a logical path.
But Joe Biden had an impressive and important victory yesterday. That was good to see.
Good luck to all of our candidates on Tuesday.

(7,358 posts)I think many Sanders supporters have left DU. Can't say I blame them. Biden wins S.C. to save his his candidacy, and all of a sudden he's got this thing wrapped up? OK Biden folks, let me have it, as I know you will.

(7,358 posts)I think I'll wait till Super Tuesday to decide if another break is at hand. Of course I will vote for the Democratic candidate as well. Because I live in GA, our primary is 2nd to last, that being being Puerto Rico, so I'm sure by the end of March we'll know who's in the lead. I live in a red state, usually the Republican will get all of the electoral votes. So there you have it. So much for my vote counting.
I've been a member on here since 2011, and I'm just realizing that we might be Democrats in name only. Where our party goes on from here may be determined from this election.

(58,785 posts)as they always intended. Hillary was in fact a very satisfactory second choice for almost all. They told interviewers so.
The other, unfortunate quarter either voted for Trump (HALF of these!) or acted out their hostility and rejection by voting for another candidate, most claiming they'd been cheated, "rigged," and driven away, Hillary was corrupt, etc. Rubbish.
Pretense that they didn't come into 2016 intending just that was blasted every time those studying them asked them what they'd do. They wanted everyone to know they implicitly believed all Sanders lies and their rejection of the Democratic Party. DU was the only place where they had to watch their words.
And now this minority of Sanders followers once again came into 2019 openly declaring their intention of voting to defeat Democrats if Sanders wasn't the nominee. We know that, again, WHY? Because they SAY so, every time pollsters and others gave them a chance to blab their attitudes and intent. DU's the only place those who might come here need to hide what they are.
Here's a clue to who's who: Good liberal Democrats like the 3/4 may be irritated by comments but they won't be irritated into abandoning their liberal principles and goals out of spite and more than the rest of us. That's what principles mean.

(58,785 posts)than behavior, though?
One thing, Pew has found that "indies" average less involved and caring than those who stay affiliated with a party and vote in lower numbers.
These angry partisans aren't like that. Most develop uber passionate attachments, even if temporary, to their one chosen dissident leader and similarly passionate antagonisms toward all who don't also align with their leader. In 2016, only 2% of that quarter didn't vote at all after Sanders lost. That's of course very low.

(18,960 posts)Biden was my choice from Day 1.
That's my prerogative, my right.
I haven't written a single negative word about any candidate.
So I don't know how "Biden folks" are defined, since I haven't defined any other "folks" who also exercised their freedom to back their candidate of choice.
If I'm celebrating Biden right now, it's because I'm celebrating Biden right now, and it's not at the expense of anyone who was in or is in the race.
Division is division and I'll have no part of it.

(25,197 posts)about Bloomie. He didn't spend a half a billion dollars for nothing. If he cannot finish above third place in any of the Super Tuesday states, I would consider him politically dead, but if he can eke out some second place finishes and maybe one or two first place finishes, he'll go all the way to the convention, offering to pay for super-PACs to aid the election campaigns of superdelegates who go his way.
