it took me until today

though i knew i would switch to Biden as soon as Elizabeth Warren dropped out.

i am still sad and mad. But Biden is clearly the only candidate left in the race who truly puts his country first. His candidacy is not about ego. He's slowed down, and who can blame him? he is old, he is bereaved, but. When he becomes president there will be sanity in this country. We need to put him over the top, vote in November in unprecedented numbers, keep the House, win the Senate, and then, we can begin the task of reclaiming our democracy.

It won't be done in my lifetime, i am convinced. trump and republicans have done so much damage it will be generations. Joe Biden is a decent start, a decent man, and a true patriot.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

since Harris (my first choice) dropped out. Trump completely dismantled so much of the government it's going to take someone with a steady hand and a knowledge of government to put it back together. Biden has many contacts throughout the U.S. and really will "hire only the best people", all pre-screened without any chance of surprises popping up, to replace the missing pieces.

Now is not the time for the country to do a complete 180 and start revolutionary new healthcare programs, debt forgiveness for college loans, free college for all etc. Those things can come a little later, and they will. We need to get out country back on solid ground first.

But Joe is more comfortable to a greater number of Americans than Bernie. The impeached president has rocked the boat so much that most all of us are seasick. I'm afraid Bernie would continue to rock the boat even if it was in a more directly positive direction. Joe would have us going slower, but in steadier seas.

i can imagine some republicans sick of trump voting for Joe, but most of them picking trump over Bernie.

It's not the policies so much, it's the person and his supporters.

so i'm thinking that for the first time since 2012 I'll be voting for the winner. that'll be good. we just MUST get out the vote so that the blue wave is uncheatable, because you know fucking republicans will be doing all they can do whether it's right or wrong to win. that the election may already be fixed somehow is a huge fear. What does mcconnell know that i don't know? how can he be so sure that he'll be majority leader come 2021? i get scared.

Yes, restore sanity in the country, and if the gods are smiling enlarge our majority in the House and take a win in the Senate. We have a strong shot at all three. Reclaiming our democratic Republic is task number 1 because I think you're right: Trump and his lawless enablers have seriously damaged the country.

Btw, there are rumors that Elizabeth Warren might be offered Treasury. That would be a big deal or in Biden's words a BFD.

Still mourning Warren's departure.

But I think you're right. I like our chances of taking back the Senate better with Joe at the head of the ticket, and he is well-connected within the party when it comes to finding eager and talented people to staff his administration and start trying to minimize the destruction wrought over the past four years.

I hope he's planning to serve 4 years and turn it over. His VP selection is really important!

I actually support quite a lot of Bernie’s ideas, but at this moment our most important task is to get rid of Dirty Donnie, and I simply believe that Biden has a better chance of doing that. I do hope he chooses a more progressive woman as VP, but in reality Biden (or Sanders) will have a huge amount of work just undoing all of Trump’s nasty policies. It may take a couple of years ro get back to normal. The likelihood, though, given the ages of Biden and Sanders, is that either would serve only one term. Whoever is the nominee needs to choose wisely to set up the VP as the next president.

administration and people are craving this normalcy. I am an EW supporter but if we can't have her, he'll do. I would like to see Kamala Harris be VP. Biden will be too old to run for a second term and after 4 years as VP she will be seasoned and qualified to run for two terms as president. I'd like to see EW either remain in the Senate or become Sec. of Education for as many terms as Biden and Harris would keep her on. This is the only way I will be satisfied with the candidate outcome.
