Here's the deal (March 17 version):

From 538:

Arizona - 67 delegates - Biden 40.3, Sanders 26.7, Biden +13.6
Florida - 219 delegates - Biden 153.1, Sanders 65.9, Biden +87.2
Illinois - 155 delegates - Biden 97.2, Sanders 57.8, Biden +39.4
Ohio - 136 delegates - Biden 82.1, Sanders 53.9, Biden +28.2

By late Tuesday night, Biden should have 1219 delegates, Sanders 888.

Biden will have 53% of ALL allocated delegates (including those for the candidates that have dropped out), Sanders only 39%.

I think he was actually paving the way for it in his press conference today. He dropped all the attacks on Biden's record and focused his fire on Trump. He laid out the issues and said he wants to have a one on one debate. If they do and he loses, it gives him cover to bow out. I am surprised nobody here seems to have noticed his change in tone today.

2. Sanders is only forecast to win a couple of states the entire rest of the campaign.

This is no longer about winning. It's about the message, which we all know by heart by now.

On the bright side, the longer he stays in, the more clear Biden's win will be.

By waiting too long again to drop out. Again there will not be enough time to get all his supporters on board to vote a Democrat into office.

7. He wants to help write the platform if nothing else.

I think some of his ideas re good but I don't like how he planned on getting there. I suppose they will give him that just so he'll be decent about it. Otherwise, I really wish he would stay in his own party lane when running for office and not on our party ticket. I don't understand why we let that happen. But still, we don't want him, the voters are speaking and he's not listening. Instead he's scolding us about not being teenagers and the people he thinks are there for him. How many are actually bots propping him up? I have always seen him as a spoiler, he should be handled like one.

8. "His" ideas are good, but he's not the only one who has them. It's the implementation...

...that's the problem.

As a loner all his political life, he'll never get anything done. You don't bash the "political establishment" and then expect them to do your bidding.

He's not the only one who wants to accomplish those goals and it has become clear that we the people aren't into his path to get there.

Biden has long coattails, Bernie has a waist-length jacket.
