'If you win a race, you win a race': AOC congratulates Biden on primary victories after 'tough night

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez told her followers there was "no sugarcoating" Sen. Bernie Sanders's performance against Joe Biden in the latest round of 2020 Democratic primaries.

"There's no sugarcoating it. Tonight is a tough night," the New York Democrat said Tuesday night on Instagram Live. "Tonight is a tough night electorally."

Biden topped Sanders in four of the six states that voted in the March 10 contests.

"If you win a race, you win a race," Ocasio-Cortez said about Biden's wins.

The congresswoman has been critical of the former vice president, saying in the past that the Democratic Party has "too big of a tent."

don’t owe it to men to jump when they say jump. AOC and Warren will endorse Biden when THEY feel it’s appropriate and not before. It’s up to them. They’re all going to be working for a Biden in the general election so I don’t see what the rush is.

I will bet you anything that she endorses Biden and campaigns for him in order to defeat Trump. As will Bernie himself. And their actions will bring many of their followers along.

If her doing that on March 18 (17 weeks before the convention) instead of March 11 (18 weeks before the convention) is not good enough for you - well, I suppose AOC will go ahead and campaign for Joe without your blessing.

She works to bring the party to the left from the inside rather than being an independent like Sanders. She’s the future, IMO.
