5. I'm 71 years old and live on social security

so I have lots of skin in this game. It's great to feel inspired by a candidate, but I do get it that some of us would likely be more hurt than others by Trump's re-election. The electability argument, which it seems to me this tweet is making, is primarily contingent upon the state of the economy. In a bull market, the incumbent is significantly more likely to be re-elected, but in the bear market, the opposite is true. In the latter case, both Bernie and Joe would be highly electable, but in the former case, both would struggle.

I'm very frightened at the possibility of dRUMPf's getting re-elected, but as a social security recipient, I'm also frightened, although not nearly as much, of Biden's getting elected. Why? He has advocated for a reduction in "entitlement" spending, and he, along with our beloved Obama, was willing use a cut to social security as a budget bargaining chip. That possibility scares the heck out of me. This draconian proposal was to use Chained CPI as a COLA standard for Soc Sec recipients.

Even so, when faced with the option of voting for someone who scares the *** out of me vs someone who frightens me less, of course I will vote for the one who is less threatening. In the meantime, I continue to support Bernie because 1) I trust him more than Biden; 2) he has a much better record on social security, 3) he will FIGHT harder to reduce healthcare costs, which is also a major issue for me.

Please stop insulting me for choosing to back someone in the primary who I sincerely believe is more likely to act in the interests of those of us who struggle the most. When you can't find fault with a candidate, what do you do? You attack his supporters. This strategy will not help unite our party.
