He just announced that he will postpone Kentucky's May 19th primary until June. He is being very pro-active on COVID-19. I don't know if this is the right decision or not, but I'm not going to second guess him. He's been drawing rave reviews, even from Republicans in this state, on his response to the coronavirus.

(1,579 posts)I know several Republicans who have been impressed by Beshear's handling of this issue.
(Former KY governor Matt Bevin took to Twitter to make a joke about Chicken Littles, toilet paper, etc.).
Beshear has had daily press conferences, in which the information is delivered deliberately and calmly. Just facts and concerned words for the affected families. No patting himself on the back or making light of anything.
Having met Beshear when he was attorney general during the teacher strike here, I have always found him to be smart, caring, and a great communicator. If he keeps this up as a young Democratic governor in a southern state, he could have a bright career at the national level.

(180 posts)He's so commanding of the facts. He expresses seriousness, but without panic. He is very compassionate. I wouldn't be surprised to see his approval ratings in the high 60's after corona's done.
