Buttigieg 2020
Related: About this forumTalking with other supporters of Mayor Pete is nice, but...
More importantly, I hope that all of his supporters are also talking about Pete with those who still have no idea as to who he is. I've certainly taken every opportunity to introduce him to all those around me, with the exception of the very few Trump supporters in my social circle.

(10,220 posts)He has impressed us both with his delivery, his message and his approach. I have not seen a more talented politician in years - he is a natural and does not (IMO) come across at all contrived.
Looking forward to the debates like I haven't in a long while this cycle...

(31 posts)You mentioned so many of the qualities that I, too, found so compelling. I could list so many more, but if I were asked to pick the one quality I admire most, it is that he is authentic. He's not trying to be anything but himself.
I think that's why he has emerged so quickly from nowhere to be mentioned as a potential front-runner.

(31 posts)Seriously. lol
That is how I feel, too -
Rhodes scholar
Afghan War vet
Wildly successful Mayor
Speaks 12 (?) languages
Re-elected Mayor with 80% of vote in then-Governor Mike Pence's state
Married to a school teacher, ect.
He is brilliant, but speaks plainly. He is well-versed on all issues, but doesn't use standard politi-speak. He is authentic. And, as you found, immensely likable.
Oh, and I hear he's gay. I hope we find out as a country that being gay - or african-american, or any other minority - is no longer a factor in judging the character of a candidate. Because in this election cycle, character should matter most.
