It has been very painful to read about the black leader in South Bend who has endorsed Biden and who has had unpleasant things to say about Pete Buttigieg.

This post helps.

Read not just the OP but the whole thread, which collectively makes clear (a) that this guy has opposed Pete from way, way back, and run against him, etc., etc. It's not just about policy, but about personal rivalry (b) that South Bend politics is incestuous and Byzantine and (as (a) demonstrates) (c) the Bernie bros and The Young Turks and similar groups have pretty much parked themselves in South Bend for many months, working hard to dig up and fling around any possible dirt that they can find, and that they are all too ready to exploit Davis to cast aspersions on Pete, even if his Biden endorsement might not be their own choice- the goal is of course to harm Pete's candidacy (I imagine that the Republicans are making their own efforts as well)

So no one would ever have been expected Davis to endorse Pete, and both he and his M.O. both have to be well-known to Pete's campaign. I'm sure also that the campaign is keenly aware of the Bernie-Bro/TYK efforts. Especially given the fact that the people on Pete's campaign are so sharp and that the campaign has been so well-run (can you imagine Lis Smith not being ready for this?) and that many key people on the campaign (Schmuel) are local to South Bend, I'm confident that Pete and the campaign will have an effective response. I admit that I'm annoyed by the press that this announcement has received, and the credulity with which the endorsement has been reported, and I'm infuriated most of all by the implication that Davis' opinion reflects the entire A-A community in South Bend, which is NOT the case.

But my bet is that the campaign is on top of this. Nevertheless, I hope that we can spread the word on the full context behind the endorsement.
