as POTUS or VP.

I'd also be happy with any of the guys running.

I was thinking Stacy Abrams because I think she and Joe would mesh well, but we saw how that went down.

OR Katie Porter!

Ideally, I want someone who (if Joe is nom) be as loyal and respectful a VP as Joe was to O. Joe was used to being the boss and it can't have been easy to be number 2 -- but his performance was stellar. I'd want the same for him.

I'm rambling...

There are two women I would be happy with, Abrams and Klobuchar. But Pete is perfect for me.

I don’t need a woman.
I want a woman but this time there isn’t one I like particularly. I’m not voting for a woman just because it’s time.
Want and need are two different things.

For many us, it's way past time. We don't want 2 white men. Women are the backbone of the Democratic Party. We want a woman on the ticket!!!!!

She would be my second choice if something happened with Biden. Beto is an interesting match (his strength in Texas a bonus) but I think there is a strong yearning for a woman on the ticket.

Amy K has been suggested because of her midwest creds. I also like Stacy Abrams who might bring Georgia along with her. But then, I really like Liz Warren and her policy-driven campaign. I'm not convinced Warren could win against Trump but she would attract more progressive voters. Only thing is she and Biden are pretty far apart on policy prescriptions. Someone suggested today it would be like mating porcupines. LOL. But it would be interesting, a Team of Rivals. Unless they killed on another, that is.

when I threw that out. But they also saw the need for a seasoned hand...that was #1. Even the folks not paying attention know damage has been done and they want someone who knows WTF they are doing to rectify things.

How about Joe and Michael.

Senator Michael Bennet would be a good Vice-President and perhaps one day President.

But my political spidey sense keeps going back to Beto. There's something special and inspirational about him, that young energy. I also think they would compliment one another. Beto has appeal that goes beyond the D next to his name. Lastly, Biden/Beto sounds good.

20. I want a running mate who can assume the role of president, which is a tall order

Whoever would become Vice-President must have the temperament, negotiating skills, stature, and discerning intellect to assume, if needed, the role of the president. That is, he or she must be qualified to become the leader of a super-power, the leader of the free world, the commander-in-chief of the military, one who works with other world leaders to protect democratic values world-wide.
I stress “world” in my description because it is easy to think only in terms of domestic policies we might agree or disagree with. Our own history, viewed in a vacuum of itself, can dictate a choice we need to make on the wider basis of world history.
Right now, we and our allies, face grave threats to world peace.
Who do we want to entrust with the responsibility not only of peacetime but in a time of war?
It is time for the best person to be ready to assume the awesome powers granted a president and the daunting challenges these bring.
I do not yet know enough about the foreign relations and policy stances or knowledge of any of the candidates other than Biden to say which of them would be up to the job.
I also think Biden might look outside the candidate roster for someone who has both governing experience and a firm grasp of world politics.
A younger John Kerry or Madeline Albright would be a great choice. I recognize the value in choosing exciting pairings, but we are not called upon to provide central casting chemistry.
I do hope we have more exposure to Castro.
I trust Biden will make a choice that is right for him, the country, and the world.
