DU4 Bug Reports
Related: About this forumThe white text with yellow highlighting in Dark/Night mode is difficult to read.
REALLY difficult.
Noticed that using DU4's Night Mode to read this:

I know some people love Night Mode, and some are thrilled with the yellow highlighting, but white text on yellow does NOT work very well. Makes it harder to read what someone wants to hightlight.
Personally, I think Night Mode is more important than yellow highlighting.
See what a problem the white-on-yellow combination is?

(52,127 posts)using black text on a yellow background for some small buttons in Night Mode, and the highlighted reply line in a thread.
It isn't too bad there, when it's separate like that. But I think with words in a sentence, or a sentence in a paragraph, it would be really jarring to have both the background color and text color switch for highlighting.
Editing to add that I meant to post reply 2 as a reply to you, not my OP. Sorry. Not getting enough sleep.

(52,127 posts)given how little testing time there's been so far, and how rare the combination of Night Mode with yellow-highlighted text would be, at this point.
The shade of blue used for the Reply, Navigate and My Stuff buttons works really well with white text. Though I don't know how easy it would be to change the highlight color to blue for Night Mode alone.
I wondered about possibly leaving the yellow highlighting in Night Mode and somehow switching the highlighted text to black...but IMO, while that would make the text readable, it would be more a distraction than a highlight, and instead of giving more attention to the words, there'd be a "Wow, that's strange" response. The reading equivalent of a warning sign. And it would make the layout look busy rather than clean.
But again, I don't know what the code you're using allows, if you can change the color of highlighting, or the color of text in highlighting, only for Night Mode.
I'd be fine with blue highlighting of text in this mode.
