1. I saw this on her show earlier. I'm glad you posted it as it needs to be seen.

Personally, it stopped me in my tracks because it scares me. I never in my life thought I’d hear such madness even though I’ve also been told freedom isn’t free…it’s fragile and must be cared for. You know, all those warnings while I took so much for granted.

When I was a kid, I remember hearing that Khrushchev wanted to "bury us" - but I never imagined that I'd be under threat now from my own country. As you said, democracy is fragile. So far, our leaders, good and not-so-good, have still respected the oath they took to the Constitution and believed in "the peaceful transfer of power" no matter who - but whoever dreamed that the threat would come from a failed businessman with 6 bankruptcies??

3. I'm so excited about the election and our chances to make history and as a Democratic voter I'm a part of

But. My fear is the corruption factor in the certification process and the nightmare of Project 2025 if they succeed. Elections were never this blatantly sabotaged as they were in 2016 but now they’ve been training more and learning from the mistakes. We just cannot let them block the peaceful transfer of power nor are we gonna be meek about our response if they try. We’ve learned our lessons, too, and we’re not going back.

4. I start worrying about the election, too, especially when we learn about the threats the Republicans are planning

The last 9 years have been bad enough. Even though we should be out of danger with Biden's substantial win in 2020, most of the news every single day has led with TFG's lawbreaking, threats and outrageous behavior - it's like he's hovering, waiting to pounce again. I couldn't wait for the 2020 election to be over so we'd never have to hear from or about him again - isn't that how it's supposed to work??

5. I would hope the DOJ/Homeland Security keep very close tabs on the pushers of the Project 2025

If that isn’t a threat to our democracy, I don’t know what is. The arrogance of these men totally piss me off that they could put into a systematic plan to change the DNA of our constitution and replace it with their authoritarian dreams of power. It scares me but it makes me enraged

6. I keep telling myself that we have departments in place to enforce laws and norms in this country

And I should trust them to do their job. But considering what's happened since 2015 - and that we're still being threatened - I'm not reassured.
