I lost my dad and grandad to Alzheimer’s. It’s brutal. There isn’t another way to describe it.

She argued with me that I was really my cousin - and invented a fictitious son, with the same name as my brother, who she insisted was "away." I believe she meant my late Dad.

on in the moment. It eased everyone’s stress. It was my kiddo who opened my eyes to that. He said “mama, you play pretend with me so you can pretend with Papa. He doesn’t know better.” From the mouths of babes.

I’m really sorry about your mom. So many of us travel this road…
