Democratic vice presidential nominee Gov. Tim Walz and Republican vice presidential nominee Sen. JD Vance will meet for their first and only scheduled debate Tuesday, Oct. 1 in New York.
PBS News coverage starts with the News Hour at 6 p.m. EDT, ahead of the 90-minute CBS 2024 Vice Presidential Debate that airs at 9 p.m. EDT.
After the debate, stay tuned for PBS News special coverage with co-anchors Geoff Bennett, Amna Nawaz, correspondents Lisa Desjardins and Laura Barrón-López, as well as analysis from Amy Walter of The Cook Political Report with Amy Walter, Republican strategist Kevin Madden and Democratic strategist Ameshia Cross.
Immediately following the special, PBS News digital producer Deema Zein will host a live conversation with Desjardins and Barrón-López about the key moments from the night.
