With so many people pronouncing it like that? Are they afraid to make the “t” sound?

I was on the phone with my insurance company a few days ago. The agent had to put me on hold that had a commercial telling me how “impordant” my call was. When the agent came back and eventually asked if there was anything does he could help with, I told him there was no “d” in the word “important” and his hold commercial had the lady say it multiple times. He said it’s like nails on a chalkboard for him too and he would be happy to send feedback… for whatever that’s worth.

and that a lot of people "use" that pronunciation. No, it's a mispronunciation........a lot of people say JEW-LER-RY instead of JEW-EL-RY, that doesn't make it any less of a mispronunciation.....both drive me nuts, they sound ridiculous

Think. Again.
