'It's almost become like sporting fandom': AZ voters on the increasing political cruelty - Velshi - MSNBC
With Arizona set to be a crucial swing state in the 2024 election, Ali Velshi hit the road and traveled to Phoenix to sit down with six local voters from across the party line. Among many things discussed in their wide-ranging conversation, was the often dark and cruel tone of American politics today.
“There is such a run to a tribalized corner on everything,” says AZ voter Jeremy Helfgot. “It's almost become like sporting fandom, where people can't even articulate necessarily why they're holding the views that they're holding…we're gonna run to where our side is at, even if we don't really have an understanding of the topic at hand."
