in a 5 v 4 ruling that trump can be sentenced tomorrow and thus be a convicted and sentenced felon on his inaugural day.

Both Joy Reid and Paul Butler, after Lisa Ruben had her say, that Roberts' whole role in life is to protect trump when actually he and Coney-Barrett voted with the three Dem-appointed justices to deny trump's appeal for no sentencing tomorrow.

What's up with that? Were they not paying attention? IMO Roberts' vote was just a feeble attempt to protect his and this SCOTUS' legacy from the harsh light historians will judge it.
